6 decade battle of an octogenarian widow for family pension: AP Lokayukta intervention gives Rs 15,000 monthly pension, Rs 15 lakh arrears

The intervention of AP Lokayukta Justice P Lakshman Reddy brought about a happy end to an octogenarian woman's six decades' battle for a family pension that was due to her rightfully but never reached her in the last 60 years despite her unrelenting efforts. This is the story of 81 year old B Krishnaveni, wife of an assistant engineer in R&B department, from Kanur at Vijayawada. Her husband B Seshagiri Rao served the department at Kakinada as assistant engineer for 9 years 6 months and 14 days. He died on Feb 6, 1962 while on duty.
