Andhra Pradesh govt announces salary hike for priests

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a salary enhancement for priests in temples across the state. Those currently earning Rs. 5,000 per month will now receive Rs 10,000, while priests earning Rs 10,000 per month will see their salary increase to Rs. 16,500. Endowments Minister Kottu Satyanarayana stated that this decision was made in accordance with the assurance given by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his padayatra prior to the last elections.
