Falling acreage swings tomato prices wildly

Amid growing worries over tomatoes going beyond the reach of common man with its prices surpassing Rs 100 a kg, it has now emerged that cultivation of the crop area has decreased tremendously in the last three years. Fluctuations in the yield price and unseasonal rains have further aggravated the crisis, say experts.
