Telangana failed to protect lakes: CAG report

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) rapped the state government for failing to take measures to protect the lakes in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region (HMR) for the past few years. This has resulted in deteriorating quality of water, foaming, formation of weed and hyacinth in the lakes, the report said.
