Woman kills self, cops suspect dowry harassment

A 23-year-old housewife hanged herself inside the bathroom of her house in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday. Her husband also attempted to commit suicide but was rescued. The deceased, S Soumya and her husband Raghavendra were living with his parents. “It was found that Soumya was mentally and physically harassed by her husband and family for dowry. The victim’s family alleged that she killed herself due to harassment. No suicide note was found,” said Vanasthalipuram inspector, A Venkataiah.
