Silver crown, jewels go missing from TTD treasury

A silver crown, two gold rings and two gold necklaces of Lord Sri Venkateswara, the presiding deity of Tirumala, are reported missing from the high-security treasury of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) here. Though the ornaments were found missing during an audit in 2017, the alleged theft came to light only on Tuesday after a former member of the TTD trust board released documents related to the audit.
