Student suicides high among BC, SC-ST communities

On April 23 this year, Ch Naveen Kumar, an 18-year-old second-year Intermediate student belonging to the SC Madiga community hanged himself from a tamarind tree in an agriculture field in Yenkepally village of Pudur Mandal in Vikarabad district of Telangana after he failed in the mathematics exam. Naveen’s father Ch Nagesh is a driver and his complaint with police stated that his son failed in three subjects.
